Intuitive Being

“Intuition is a spiritual faculty, and does not explain, but simply points the way.”

-Florence Scovel Shinn

I love when my devotionals all say essentially the same thing.  I know it means I need to hear what they are trying to tell me.  Today I read about intuition and having faith when you are faced only with fear.  We have all heard the phrase, “woman’s intuition”, and while I do agree sometimes women are more finely tuned into their intuition, we all have access to it.  Intuition is that little voice inside of you, the one you can barely hear, the one that is telling you to take that risk.  Intuition is that feeling in your gut when you know you just did something right, or you should do something right.  Intuition is available to all of us we just have to listen carefully.  Fear is the enemy trying to muffle the sounds of your intuition.  Think for a moment when you faced a decision, on one hand you could take a risk and on the other you could stay within your comfort zone.  If you take a chance, you may not know the outcome, but it could be the best decision you ever make.  If you choose to stay within your comfort zone, then you likely know the outcome, and not much will change.  Sometimes staying within our comfort zone is okay and possibly the right decision for us at the time.  But there are other times when that little voice is telling you to take that leap into the unknown for the result is going to be grand.  Those are the times that fear will fill our minds and cloud our judgement.  Our initial reaction is to coil back into our comfort zone and not move.  But those are the times that we need to have faith in that little voice and take that leap.  There are only two outcomes that you can be sure of; you will fly, or you will fall.  Either way, there is a gift waiting for you.  A reward will meet you in the sky or a lesson will break your fall.  Both will be enriching in the end.  Always keep your eyes on the big picture, your value in this life, your intuition is lead by your purpose and listening to it is likely always the right decision.  We don’t know what tomorrow will bring, but God knows our purpose in this world.  He gave us the gift of intuition; however you want to see it, whether it be a gut feeling, woman’s intuition, God’s voice, it is there to guide us to our destiny.  Faith is the only weapon we have to fight fear.  Having faith in something is important.  Belief in your family, in yourself, in God.  When fear creeps in to block the sound of your intuition, fight and defeat it with your faith and embrace the lesson or reward that is waiting for you.
